Life skills - Puppy - Beginner cycle

Ideally, we take our first lesson before the arrival of the puppy. It is crucial that we are prepared and that we don’t allow any mistakes to take place. This way, we save valuable time and energy as opposed to fixing what went wrong.

We adopt a holistic approach by focussing on the puppy, its needs, and its balanced raising. We learn how to avoid common struggles that puppy parents face (house soiling, not accepting to wear his harness, mouthing, not facing life with confidence) and set the foundation of a healthy human-animal bond. We set your puppy up for success, arming him with the skills he needs to lead a happy life, more calm and confident.

Life skills - All ages - Beginner cycle

Ideally, we take our first lesson prior to the arrival of the dog. It is crucial that we are prepared and that we don’t allow any mistakes to take place. This way, we save valuable time and energy as opposed to fixing what went wrong.

We adopt a holistic approach. We learn the dog’s needs, how to effectively cover them, what helps him and what doesn’t. We distinguish our approach from all myths and misconceptions on dog training. We learn how to deal with everyday life’s challenges in the most efficient way for you, your dog, and the community around you. We provide your dog with the skills that allow him to make his own mindful decisions, to help him live a safer and happier life. We overcome the common struggles that dog parents face today: we teach your dog manners at home, out and about, and when he is alone.

Life skills - All ages - Tailor made to your dog's needs

All ages are welcome. We dive deep into the area that interests you the most:

Dog-human relationship
You can never go wrong by adding value to this bond. This is the starting point for everything you want to achieve with your dog.
Optimism
Did you know that only pessimists survive? If you are an optimist and you take on challenges as they come, it is most probable that you will not survive, and you will become food for an animal stronger than you. The survival chain does not reward optimists, so our dogs know how to recognize whatever new and threatening is out there: another dog, a man with an umbrella, a motorcycle. You learn how to teach your dog to be more optimistic and stay relaxed on your walks.
Confidence
You might have raised your dog like a king, or maybe your dog was rehomed from a really inappropriate environment. Either way, there is always room for building confidence and helping him live his life happier and less stressed.
Self-control
Do you want your dog to remain calm and not eat food from the dinner table? Do you want your dog to leave the leftovers he finds thrown away on the street? Do you want your dog to be able to control himself, even though he wants something badly?
Boundaries and Calm
A calm dog is a gift for you and the people around you. Calmness can only lead to beneficial behaviors for your dog and yourself. Remember how your dog is jumping up and down every time a visitor arrives. And now picture your dog staying calm on his bed while visitors arrive, or while you talk on the phone, or while you work from home. Which one would you prefer?
Life without a leash
A dog that stays close, has his focus on you, and comes back when you call him.

3+ lessons

We start with a consulting session; we evaluate the issues that concern you the most and the solutions I offer. The first session is followed by a minimum of 2 guided practice lessons.

Life skills - Senior dogs - Tailor made to your dog's needs.

When your dog is aging, his behavior changes. It is essential that you find ways to stand by him and to support him.

2+ lessons

We start with a consulting session; we evaluate the issues that concern you the most and the solutions I offer. The first session is followed by a minimum of one guided practice lesson.

I provide guided practice lessons in two ways, and both are equally effective: in person, or remotely via Skype/Zoom.

In-person training

We start the lessons in the comfort of your own home. We continue with visiting places in your neighborhood, where you usually walk your dog.

Remote training

Irma and I will demonstrate what I want you to do. Just by watching you and your dog repeat what we did, I can easily guide you by letting you know what went well and what aspects you need to improve, to get the desired outcome.

Beyond guided practice lessons

I also provide consulting sessions on dog behavior.
